Gilley’s and its mechanical bull were a mainstay at the Frontier before it was demolished.

The New Frontier was a hotel and casino located on the Las Vegas Strip that had operated continuously since October 30, 1942. It was the second resort that opened on The Strip. It had the distinction of hosting Elvis Presley’s first Vegas appearance in 1956.  The Frontier closed its doors in 2007. The new Gilley’s is located at Treasure Island and is equally famous for its food and for semi-naked Gilley’s girls performing incredible feats of sensual acrobatics on the mechanical bull  – I was drawn to both late or was it early one night and returned hoping to see that girl on the bucking bull again…

…check out this original signed postcard from Elvis at the Frontier…
